With the increasing number of Covid-19 cases in Indonesia, it only makes sense that regulations related to preventive actions such as wearing face masks in public spaces are enforced, especially in public spaces that are suspected to be Covid-19 clusters or could potentially be new Covid-19 clusters, including markets and malls.
Therefore, Snapcart thought that it would be interesting to find out what Indonesians thought of the two following things: do they think that retailers should challenge customers who refuse to wear face masks while shopping; and whether shopping in shopping centers that require visitors to wear face masks is preferable.
95% of Indonesians think that retailers should challenge customers who refuse to wear face masks while shopping. And as seen in picture 2, 96% respondents prefer shopping in shopping centers that require visitors to wear face masks, most of whom, are also those between the age of 35 to 44 years old.

The results raise an interesting question and more research might be needed. If there are more than 95% respondents who think that retailers should challenge customers who refuse to wear face masks while shopping, and they prefer shopping in retail shops that require visitors to wear face masks, then why until August 2020 there are thousands of people who are caught not wearing face masks in public spaces? Whatever the answer may be, we are looking at a rather a concerning situation. Data published by covid19.go.id, updated September 1st, 2020 shows that there have been 177,571 positive cases, 128,057 cured, and 7,505 deaths. If the public are still unwilling to wear face masks despite realizing the importance of it, we may face difficulties in seeing a drop in the number of Covid-19 cases.
