Stay Healthy, Stay Happy

Numerous illnesses, such as influenza, dengue fever, diarrhea, and many more, are emerging and making people ill throughout the rainy seasons, like at this moment. Whereas, since our study in June 2024 found that people in Indonesia have consumed less multivitamin products after the Covid-19 outbreak has ended [1], in December 2024, we conducted another research to discover Indonesians’ efforts to stay healthy during seasons when many people get sick. You can check the result of the survey in the infographic and graphics below.

From 830 respondents, we figured out that only 39% of Indonesians consume multivitamin products, and 2% do immune booster injection/infusion in order to stay healthy.

However, more than a half of the population (52%) said that even though they don’t consume any multivitamins or do booster injection/infusion during rainy and/or transitional seasons when a lot of people get sick, they always try to maintain their health by consuming lots of vitamins from natural sources like fruits and vegetables, and also applying other healthy lifestyle.

Furthermore, we also asked those who choose to consume fruits and vegetables about the reasons on their choice. Is it because fruits and vegetables are cheaper than any multivitamin products or booster injection/infusion, or are there any other bigger factors that make them prefer natural vitamin sources to consume?

Take a look at the graphic below to see their answers.

Indonesians’ Preferences & Habits in Consuming Multivitamin Products and/or Getting an Immune Booster Injection/Infusion

According to the data in the infographic above, we can see that among these 41% of our respondents, only 3% – 7% who consume multivitamin products or get immune booster injection/infusion during rainy and/or transitional seasons, when many people get sick.

Nevertheless, the majority of these 41% people consume multivitamin products every day, meanwhile most of those who do immune booster injection/infusion get the booster every once a week or once every 2 – 3 months, and many of them (64%) get the injection/infusion at a clinic.

Moreover, this study also revealed an interesting fact, where we found out that many kids and teenagers under 18 years old prefer to consume multivitamins in tablet form rather than delicious gummy, while the majority of those who like consuming gummy multivitamins are people aged 18 – 28 years old.

Additionally, speaking of favorite types of multivitamin forms, this survey also discovered the top 5 most favored brands of multivitamin products in Indonesia, where Enervon C is on the first rank, followed by Imboost, Vitalong C, YouC 1000, and Ipi.

The Consumers’ Lifestyle

Some might assume that those who consume additional vitamins from multivitamin products or get immune booster injection/infusion are people who have unhealthy lifestyle. In the contrary, our survey discovered otherwise.

As represented in the infographic above, most of those who consume additional vitamins from multivitamin products or immune booster injection/infusion actually applying a quite healthy lifestyle, such as often consuming real/healthy meals & drinks, have enough sleep at night, and 52% of them even do sport/physical exercise at least two times a week, as shown in the graphic below.
